The Naya Kanga Peak Climbing trip has been gaining quite a bit of fame due to its easy accessibility and a surreal display of Himalayas. This climbing trip takes you on a natural and cultural journey. Hence, It explores the revered sites of Kyanjin Gompa and Tserko Ri.

The trip culminates at the summit of the Naya Kanga Peak (5844m)with the cinematic display of mountains in Langtang, Ganesh, and Ganchempo ranges. Pack your bags and set out on a journey that will take you through Tamang settlements and Langtang National Park.

This 17-day Naya Kanga Peak Climbing begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. Before heading out on our grand conquest, we take a brief tour of Kathmandu valley and visit some UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The next day, we head to Dhunche. From Dhunche, the trek begins as you walk along the banks of Trishuli River to reach Thule Syabru. The trail takes a steep turn on the road to Lama Hotel.

Take a break at Ghodatabela and then embark on the trail to Langtang village. After exploring this village, we shall head to Kyanjin Gompa. Kyanjin Gompa has great significance in this region and is a must-see monastery in this trek. On the rest day, head to the nearest hill of Tserko Ri and take in the sights of Langtang and Dorje Lakpa ranges. Leaving Kyanjin Gompa, we head to the Naya Khang Peak Base Camp.

From the base camp, we slowly head to the high camp and begin the scaling of the Naya Kanga Peak (5844m). Once on top of the summit, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and its range, Ganesh Himal (7,422m), Manaslu (8,163m), and the whole Langtang Valley.

After the climb, we shall slowly head back to Kyanjin Gompa and then towards Lama Hotel. Trek to arrive at Syabrubensi and head back to Kathmandu where the trip shall come to an end.

  1. Day 01 Arrival at Katmandu (1,300m)

    Arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, and meet our company representative. From there, they will transfer you to your hotel. During the evening, you can take a quick stroll around your hotel. Or, you can just rest as there are no activities planned for today besides your arrival. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  2. Day 02 Trek Preparation

    Today, we shall head on a tour to explore the major UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu valley. We will visit sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. After visiting these sites, head back to your hotel and complete all the necessary paperwork needed for the trip ahead. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  3. Day 03 Drive to Dhunche 150km (1,960m) 6/7 hours

    We shall wake up early and drive away from the hustling Kathmandu to Dhunche. The drive takes us about 7 hours and it goes through pitch as well as graveled roads. Dhunche is the district headquarters of Rasuwa District and you will find many tourists here who are on the road to Langtang. Overnight in Dhunche.

  4. Day 04 Trek to ThuloSyabru (2,210m) 5/6 hours

    From Dhunche, we shall head on an initially gradually descending trail to ThuloSyabru. We walk on the foothills of Syabru and, along the way, we can see Ganesh Himal (7,422m) and Langtang Mountain. We shall be accompanied by the Trishuli River as well. After a steep climb up to Bharkhu, you continue climbing steadily up to Thulo Syabru. It is a resting point for many trekkers on this route. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.

  5. Day 05 Trek to Lama Hotel (2,410m) 6/7 hours

    The trail for today takes us across the Bhotekoshi River and into the banks of the Langtang River. Our destination for today is the Lama hotel which is basically a group of small lodges in the middle of the wilderness. The trail goes through Bamboo gradually ascending and, later, the rugged terrain takes us to Rimche. Have lunch there and head towards the Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

  6. Day 06 Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m) 5 ½ hours

    The trail from Lama Hotel to the Langtang village goes uphill through Gumnachowk and stops at Ghodatabela. You can see yaks and horses carrying numerous goods on the way. Walking through a dusty trail and you will arrive at the Langtang village. This is an ancient village and the residents here mostly follow Buddhism. Spend your time here interacting with the locals and learning about their lifestyle, religion, and culture. Overnight in Langtang village.

  7. Day 07 Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,830m) 4 ½ hours

    Our destination today is one of the major attractions of this trip, KyanjinGompa. It is the most sacred monastery in the region. Along the way, we get a great view of Langtang Lirung (7,227m). We shall also visit the cheese factory famous for yak cheese. Once you arrive in Kyanjin Gompa, visit the monastery to observe and learn about Buddhism from the monks. From here, you’ll also marvel at the sight of the glorious Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and Ganchempo(6,388m). Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

  8. Day 08 Rest for Excursion to around Kyanjin Gompa

    Today, we shall embark on a journey to explore the outskirts of the Kyanjin Gompa. We will hike to the summit of Tserko Ri(4,984m) and find ourselves in front of the magnificent allure of mountains like Langtang (7,227m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and Ganchempo(6,388m). Further, interact with the monks in the monastery to understand their way of life and have some yak cheese as well. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

  9. Day 09 Trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp (4,430m) 5/6 hours

    The objective for the day is to reach the Naya Khang Base Camp. To reach there, we must continue on an uphill trail and go through birch and coniferous forests, and later, along the Langtang River. We shall continue our climb until we arrive at the base camp. Depending on the time of the year, you’ll find the base camp covered in snow or yaks grazing. Overnight in tents in the base camp.

  10. Day 10 Trek to High Camp (4,960m) 4/5 hours

    Leaving the base camp, we head to the High Camp today getting closer to the summit of Naya Khang Peak. The trail is a steep climb up to the High Camp. The trek is short today which will work in our favor as the altitude is high and only getting higher. The climb may require the need of trekking equipment. We need to cross the snow-laden paths and avalanche-prone parts as well. Overnight in High Camp.

  11. Day 11 Reserve day at High Camp

    Today is a day or contingency in the high camp. To prepare ourselves for the final climb, we shall spend a day in the high camp, and learn about the proper usage of climbing equipment and learn some tips and tricks from the head guide. Be sure to take full rest as we have a big day tomorrow. Overnight in High Camp.

  12. Day 12 Early morning Climb to Naya Kanga Peak summit (5,844m) Back to Base camp overnight at Tent

    The timing of the climb shall depend on the weather conditions and our head guide. The climb to the top involves crossing snowy terrain and strong winds. Initially, the climb is gradually through boulders and snow. Towards the end, the trail gets steep with lots of snow and some ice that might require slow and careful climb. From the summit, we get a spectacular view of Langtang, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, and Dorje Lakpa ranges, and Langtang Valley. After conquering the summit, we slowly head back to the base camp. Overnight in base camp.

  13. Day 13 Trek Down to Kyanjin Gompa 4/5 hours

    From the base camp, we head back to Kyanjin Gompa. We shall use the same trail that we had used before on the ascent. Today, we have to do a lot of descending which might get a little hard on your knees. The walk sees the landscape transcend from snow and rocks to lush valleys and forest. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.

  14. Day 14 Trek Down to Lama Hotel (2,410m) 6/7 hours

    The backward journey continues today. We will head back to the Lama hotel. We shall follow the Langtang River and observe the landscape filled with flowers and trees. Lama hotel is a group of lodges in the middle of a forest. Upon arrival, you can explore the nearby areas around the hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

  15. Day 15 Trek Down to Syabrubensi (1,503m) 6/7 hours

    The trip is nearing its end. From Lama Hotel, we shall further descend down to the small settlements of Bamboo and Rimche. We have our lunch in Rimche and continue the journey until we arrive at Syabrubensi. The Langtang River will keep us company until we reach Syabrubensi. Overnight in Syabrubensi.

  16. Day 16 Drive Back to Kathmandu (170km) 7/8 hours |Farewell Dinner

    The trip is coming to an end today. We shall catch a bus to Kathmandu and embark on an 8-hour long journey. The roads are filled with treacherous curves and but the view of the hills, rivers and rural settlements will give you enjoyment throughout. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. At night, the company will host you a farewell dinner for a successful completion of the climb. Overnight in Kathmandu.

  17. Day 17 Departure from Kathmandu

    Today is your final day in Nepal. Our company representative will drop you off at  Tribhuvan International Airport for your scheduled flight home. We bid you farewell. Thank you!
