Mera Peak Climbing is a journey to the top of the Mera Peak (6461m), situated in the Makalu Barun National Park. The peak climbing trip serves as a practice for mountaineers seeking to climb other higher mountains.
The main attraction of Mera Peak climbing is the panoramic view of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586 m), Mt. Lhotse (8414 m) Mt. Makalu (8463 m) and Mt. Cho Oyu (8188 m).
Autumn and spring seasons offer beautiful views and are ideal for the Mera Peak Climbing. These seasons have perfect weather conditions and a pleasant environment to undertake the journey.
The trip is fairly easy considering it is a peak climbing but, can be difficult for ordinary individuals. Thus, any prior peak climbing or trekking experience can be helpful on the trip. Likewise, climbers should be physically fit and well-equipped.

Mera Peak Climbing Itinerary
The journey begins with a flight to Lukla followed by a trek to Paiya. Next, you’ll trek to Panggom via Kari La Pass (3145m). Then, you’ll head to Ningsow with a slow decrease in altitude. From Ningsow, you trek through the steep inclined trail up to Ramailo Danda. Next, you’ll head to Kothe and continue to Thangnak. As you head to Khare, the trail is fairly easy but the altitude poses a challenge. Soon, you’ll trek to high camp and climb to the summit the next day and return to Khare. Then, you return to Lukla passing Kothe, Thuli Kharka, and Zatrwa La Pass (4610m). Thereafter, a scenic flight to Kathmandu concludes the journey.
