We continue along the Dudh Koshi valley where the first stretch is a descent to reach a bridge. The trail is laden with Rhododendron and Bamboo trees. We continue on this trail and head to the top of the Kari La Pass (3165m). We cross the pass and trek along the Dudh Koshi River valley to Panggom.

    5. Day 06 Panggom to Ningsow (2863m) (4-5 hours)

We will be crossing our third pass on the trek: the Panggom La Pass. We ascend steadily and turn northwards. From here on, we pass the hilly landscapes traversing along the hillsides and atop ridges. The trek today will give us the first proper glimpses of Mera Peak (6461m) and Naulekh peak ranges. After crossing the Panggom Pass, it will be mostly a descent along the Peseng Khola to Ningsow.

    6. Day 7 Ningsow to Charta Khola (2800m) (7-8 hours)

We will begin trekking after breakfast with the views of Mera Peak (6461m) and Salpa Danda. We trek along this relatively level trail through the Rhododendron and bamboo forests. Leaving the monastery, we will head to Thaknak.

    9. Day 10 Thaknak to Khare (5045m) (2-3 hours)

It is a short trek from Thaknak to Khare. However, we need to take it slow as we will be trekking tricky glacial moraines in high altitude. We follow the Charpate Himal Glacier to Dig Kharka with the views of Charpate Himal. Further ahead is a junction with Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers which climbs up to Khare.

    10. Day 11 Khare to Mera High Camp (5780m) (6-7 hours)

The trail heads along the Mera glacier-studded with large boulders and smaller loose rocks. The glacier also has some cracks and crevasses which needs careful navigation. We will need to set up camp here. Moreover, the High Camp offers clear views of the Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse Shar (8393m), Makalu (8485m), and Cho Oyu (8201m). Get a good rest as we will need to wake up very early the next morning.

We wake up before dawn and check and prep our equipment then continue along the Mera Glacier. The route is still full of crevasses and tricky sections. We will follow the trail which narrows up into an icy ridge and climbs all the way to the summit. The top of the peak gives enchanting views of the surrounding mountains. On clear days you get unobstructed views of nearby mountains such as the Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8485m), Baruntse (7152m), Nuptse (7861m), and Chamlang (7312m). Next, we retrace our steps to the High Camp and then to Khare.

After breakfast, we retrace our steps back. We will first head back down to Thangnak on a continuous descent. From Thaknak, we further descend to Kothe to spend the night. The trail will mostly consist of glacial moraines and scarce alpine vegetation. Following the stone steps, we head south for the final part of the trek.

    13. Day 14 Kothe to Thuli Kharka (4300m) (5-6 hours)

After breakfast, we will begin the trek along the open hill slopes. Our route will meander along the hillsides and follow and cross the many branches of the Inkhu Khola. We will arrive at a Junction near the village of Taktho. From here on, we take the right trail which will descend. The final section of the trip will have us ascending to Thuli Kharka.

    14. Day 15 Thuli Kharka to Lukla (2840m) via Zatrwa La Pass (4610m) (5-6 hours)

Today is the last day of the trek where we will descend to Lukla. However, we will need to cross over the Zatrwa La pass (4610m) first. The top of the pass provides us wonderful views of the Dudh Koshi valley and mountains in Cho Oyu, Kongde Ri, and Numbur Himal ranges.
